Dzoic Social Networking Software can make a good backbone for any social networking venture. With its latest release, open social software, you are now capable of integrating your site with all those other very popular and highly talked about sites such asMySpace, Orkut, Ning, hi5 and others!
This is good for a number of reasons. One, it connects you with the major league players. These sites drive traffic and your member will most likely be members of at least a few… Two, it offers your site more flexibility and options for more improvement.
The cost with this social networking script is not bad. The core script is 299.00. This price is ridiculously low if you consider what you are getting. The open social mod is an additional 100.00 but well worth it.
Like most of these sites, you’ll have to pay to remove the brand name. It’s a cheesy attempt to make a buck, like a convenience fee for using your atm card. You’ll have to suck it up and pay the piper if you want your own unique branding.
Dzoic handshakes is a 100% open source social script. This means the script is not encrypted, allowing you to edit the source code as you see fit.
Dzoic has a large active community which utilize a number of dzoic products, such as cliphouse (think YouTube Clone) and versions of the script that range from V3.1 to V3.6
Unlike PhpFoX, which provides 6 months of support and upgrades, Dzoic offers Lifetime support and 1 year’s worth of free updates for its social networking script.
You can down load and install Handshakes immediately upon payment and it has a pretty solid installation script and administrators guide.

I chose Dzoic over the others, and have 3 sites based on it. 1 of the sites is fairly large with 20 000 members and I am quite happy with it too.
I definitely recommend Dzoic Handshakes. Have used it for 2 sites, and had some nice experience with it. It is good if you know some php so you can customize it if you are not happy with some of the out of the box features, but this would be highly unlikely. I found Dzoic to be quite developer friendly as well. I run 3 sites based on it with great success. Handshakes handles a nice load of 30 000 members, on a power VPS.
If you think about what you are getting for 300 bucks you are crazy for not buying this script. A small amount of css and some good promotion can get you a niche community going in no time.
